I even tried resetting the GPS using that small button at the back of the GPS but when I again try to "enable" the Bluetooth option it behaves the same way. After five seconds (maybe a bit longer), the engineering menu will appear. I'm otherwise really happy with the 360 so I'm glad this was a relatively simple fix. I recently had the same "disconnected" problem; Garmin support took me through an upgrade and I was fixed for about a week before it returned. I contacted Garmin via their web site for a previous software version request though.
If "Bluetooth Firmware Update..." (or similar text) DOES NOT APPEAR skip to step 10 below, otherwise complete your fix with the next step, step 9.9. Going through the engineering screen and reinstalling the bluetooth firmware seems to have worked. The phone had worked perfectly with the Nuvi 360 for about a month, but it then started to continually connect and disconnect, with the phone constantly 'seeking' the nuvi.
Of course, map updates usually aren't free, but nearly all of the major GPS device manufacturers are starting to offer devices with free lifetime map updates.
Additionally, most new GPS devices feature some sort of map guarantee that entitles users to one update to the newest map data within the first 30 days of ownership, free of charge.
